Akhaura immigration authorities in Brahmanbaria have sent back journalist Shyamol Dutta along with his family as there were restrictions for them to leave the country.
Shyamol Dutta was attempting to leave the country along with his wife and daughter through Akhaura International Immigration Checkpost at 4:00pm on Tuesday.
The immigration sources said journalist Shyamol Dutta was trying to go to India along with his wife and daughter through Akhaura immigration at 4:00pm on Tuesday. However, the immigration authorities sent him back as there were restrictions on him to leave the country. At that time, he pleaded to the immigration authorities to allow him and his family members to go to India.
Akhaura International Immigration police in-charge Md Khairul Alam said Shyamol Dutta came at the immigration along with wife Sanchita Dutta and daughter Sunanda Dutta in the afternoon. However, they were not allowed to go to India as there are restrictions from the Special Branch of police. Shyamol Dutta along with family members was returned at about 4:30pm from the immigration.
It may be mentioned that Shyamol Dutta is known a pro-Awami League journalist. He is the editor of Bhorer Kagoj and general secretary of Jatiya Press Club.
