In Magura, a man was killed and 20 others were injured in the clashes between protesters on one side and police, rulling party men on other sides on Sunday.
Earlier, protesters brought out a procession in Parnandualia area of the city and police tried to obstruct them, triggering a clash.
The protesters threw brick bats at police, forcing to fire tear shells and rubber bullets. Sources said the ruling party men joined police. They said a man was killed and 20 others were injured in the clashes. However, the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Mehedi Hasan Rabbi, senior joint general secretary of the district Chhatra Dal, was injured by bullets at Parnanduali area under Magura municipality.
Mehedi Rasel, officer-in-charge of Magura Sadar Police Station, alleged that said most of the protesters are the activists of BNP-Jamaat. They attacked the law enforcers.
The clash is still going on. Many of the police personnel were injured.
The official said they have any information about the death.
