Protestors block Rajshahi-Dhaka highway

Protestors blocked on the Rajshahi-Dhaka highway on Saturday part of protest programmed announced by Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Students from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Rajshahi University (RU) and general people blocked the highway defying rains and chanted various anti-government slogans at around 10:30 AM.

Later, teachers, lawyers and workers also joined the protest program to extend solidarity with their demands.

Dr Saleh Hasan Nakib, a Physics Department teacher of Rajshahi University (RU), said the place turned into a human sea with the participation of general people, teachers and lawyers.

Members of law enforcement agencies were present but did not obstruct the protesters.
