Some 42 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinees, who were arrested in Dhaka Metropolitan city and Dhaka district regarding the violent situation surrounding the quota reform movement, were granted bail by two Dhaka Courts on Friday.
Among them 37 were in jail custody of various police stations of Dhaka Metropolitan city and rest 5 different police stations of Dhaka district.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam granted bail to 37 HSC examinees of Dhaka metropolitan city while senior judicial magistrate M Mustafizur Rahman granted bail to five students of Dhaka's three upazilas -- Savar, Ashulia and South Keraniganj.
Both the Magistrates granted bail to students considering as HSC candidates.
The defence lawyers submitted the students admit cards and Registration cards before the court for bail prayer consideration.
Of the bailed 42 HSC examinees, six were in Mirpur Police Station, five in Shahbag, five in Uttra West, three were Pallabi and Jatrabari, each two were in Savar, Ashulia, Rupnagar, Wari, Lalbagh , Uttara east and Shabujbagh, each one in Dhanmondi, South Keraniganj, Chawakbazar and Kadamtali.
Those who got bail in holiday, Friday are Ali Hossain. Ismail, Imran, Kader, Nafiz, Yamin, Ashif, Samad, Elahi Baksh, Samir, Tanjil, Alauddin, Apu, Faishal, Samiul, Shakhawat, Roni, Imran Ahmed, Samrat, Rashedul, Masud, Md Asif, Al Amin, Shakil,Jaber Hossain, Raihan, Ruhul Amin, Rahat, Zaki Tahsin, Tuhin, Nahid, Masud Rana, Shariful Islam, Shihab, Tashrif, Sawad, Nasir, Shabbir, Fardin, Khalid, Emon Hawladar and Helal.
On Thursday Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka granted three HSC examinees bail who are in police custody.
On Thursday the Home Ministry issued a notification that if any of the detainees are current HSC examinees, they will receive special legal assistance for bail.
According to the notice, the government has stipulated that during bail applications, detainees must submit their examination admit cards and relevant documents.
Additionally, for those student detainees against whom there are no serious accusations, the government will also provide legal aid for bail, it added.
