
A new case was filed over throwing Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists from a six-storied building in Chattogram city during a clash over quota reform movement.
Police filed the case with Panchlaish Police Station accusing 50 named and 30 to 35 unnamed individuals.
With this, a total of 20 cases have been registered with different police station in the city regarding the clashes relating to the quota movement.
CMP Media and Public Relations Department Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kazi Md Tarek Aziz told the journalists that a total of 516 people have been arrested in last 12 days in the port city so far.
Earlier, a group of Chhatra League activists took shelter on the roof of the six-storied building near the Muradpur intersection after being chased by the quota protestors during the clash. When the protestors attacked them, BCL workers tried to climb down by the sanitation pipe from the roof.
Besides, a video of them being thrown from the building went viral on Facebook-YouTube through social media.
