Journalist killed in Satkhira road accident

A journalist was killed in a road accident at Shyamnagar upazila in Satkhira district on Friday night. 

The accident occurred at around 10:00 pm in Gopalpur area in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Nuruzzaman, editor of local online news portal 'Nilakash Today', a resident of Nurnagar village in the upazila.

It was learnt that Nuruzzaman was going to his house from Shymnagar by riding on a bicycle at night. When he arrived in the area, he fell into an under-construction culvert.

At that time, a rode pierced his head and exited from the other side, leaving him dead on the spot.

Abul Kalam Azad, officer in-charge of Shymnagar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
