Two murdered in Barishal, Narayanganj

Two people including a woman were murdered in separate incidents in two districts - Barishal and Narayanganj, recently.

BARISHAL: A man was killed by his nephew over a land dispute in Sadar Upazila of the district recently.

Deceased Kamal Hossain, 50, son of late Md Hossain Ali Khan, was a resident of Rajarchar Village under Charmonai Union in the upazila. 

It was known that Kamal had a feud with his brother over land. Following this, his nephew Hridoy hacked Kamal with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.

Later on, Kamal Hossain was rescued and taken to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station (PS) ATM Arichul Haque confirmed the incident, adding that legal action would be taken in this connection. 

NARAYANGANJ: A housewife was hacked to death by her drug addict husband in Bandar Upazila of the district recently.

Deceased Kajli Begum, 30, mother of two daughters, was the wife of Masum, a resident of Ulak area in the upazila. 

Local sources said Masum is a drug addict. He hacked Kajli as she refused to give him money for buying drugs, leaving her dead on the spot. 

Hearing the scream of her two daughters, locals rushed in and caught Masum. 

They then handed Masum over to police after beating him up. 

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Bandar PS Inspector (Investigation) Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the incident, adding that Masum was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and legal action would be taken against him.
