Dear Sir
The proposed mini stadium is going to be built on agricultural land owned by the marginal farmers in North Algi Mauza, under 2 no. Algi Durgapur Uttar Union under Haimchar Upazila of Chandpur District. About 3.1900 acres of agricultural land is being occupied.
As a result, farmers will become landless where farmers make a living by cultivating three crops a year. Besides, they produce various types of crops including rice, wheat, corn, betel nut, jute, and vegetables. Moreover, farmers manage the hay and grass for cattle from this land. After that, landless farmers ensure their food by taking lease the land. Also, most of the upazilas land is lost due to river erosion and 2 number Uttar Algi Union is a densely populated area, which will have a great adverse effect on peoples livelihood. If the stadium is built, the surrounding agricultural land and houses will be flooded.
Therefore, I urge to Honorable Prime Minister to protect agriculture land and postpone the project as well as I would like to request the attention of the concerned ministries.
Mohammad Al Amin
Haimchar, Chandpur
