Two photojournalists were injured in an attack reportedly by activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League on the Dhaka University campus on Monday afternoon while covering the clash between BCL and quota reform activists.
The two injured are The Daily Star's Senior Photographer Prabir Das and Daily Prothom Alo's Staff Photographer Dipu Malakar.
Meanwhile, more than 100 students were injured in clashes as BCL activists swooped on the quota reform activists on the campus.
Earlier, quota protesters began gathering in front of the Raju Sculpture around 12:30pm to demand the prime minister withdraw her comments.
They chanted slogans in support of their movement. Sources said students from Dhaka University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka Medical College, Dhaka College and Eden College took part in the protest.
The clashed erupted in Bijoy Ekattor Hall, VC Chattar, Nilkhet intersection, and the surrounding areas.
