Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has pleaded to a court in Dhaka on Thursday to place six accused including Public Service Commission (PSC) deputy director Jahangir Alam, on a 10-day remand in a case filed over BCS question paper leak.
In presence of the accused, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury set July 16 for hearing on remand.
Investigation officer (IO) of the case CID's additional special police super Jewel Chakma pleaded to place the accused on a 10-day remand on Thursday.
Five other accused are PSC's assistant director SDM Alamgir Kabir, 49, deputy director Abu Zafar, 57, Defence and Accounts Department's auditor Priyanath Roy, 51, Mirpur's garment trader Noman Siddique, 44, and businessman Zahedul Islam, 27.
It may be mentioned that police produced all 17 arrested accused before the court on July 9. At that time, six accused including Abed Ali agreed to submit confessional statements under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the IO pleaded to the court to record their statements. Responding to the plea, the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court recorded their confessional statements.
