If only I could go back in Time…

If you could go back in time, who would you want to meet? Perhaps it would be your loved ones or people youve shared good memories with, diving into the most glorious ocean with those special people who make your life complete. If I am to answer, it would be the exact opposite. If there was a tiny spark of chance, I would undoubtedly want to meet the most monstrous teacher Ive ever adventured with in my thirty years of life-an adventure to truly secure in the house of memories.

Miss Sharlin was our teacher from class four. Blessed with well- defined features and petite lips, she had the face of a pop idol. Her mid- length back hair shone and crowned her with a glowing halo. In spite of her conservative clothes, her exceptional figure was easy to discern. Like a model from a fashion magazine, she was a beautiful lady who would draw anyones gaze. Judging by her description, no wonder you might have already captured a great impression of her because she really gave out the aura of an alpha. An honest mistake! We did also have that kind of impression until that one day she opened her mouth and gave a look which still remains a nightmare for me-undulating brows and broadened eyes, suddenly focused on me!

"Whats wrong with you, may I ask?" She did her utmost to stretch her voice to the peak frequency.

"Eh?" I replied sheepishly.

"Why did you look down? When I speak, everyones attention should be entirely drawn towards me. Your eyes should focus on me, ONLY ME!" She Shrieked.

For such a simple reason, she continued giving me the death stare for the next few minutes. Afterwards, she was reached out by our principal for an important discussion and she left, leaving me utterly perplexed. From then onwards, we all stared at her, as she wanted, whenever she gave a lecture, even when we were to make notes on our copy. As I remember, my friend, Shipti, made a blunder in her notes and so she asked for an eraser from me. I passed her the eraser, still staring at Miss Sharlin. Shipti averted her eyes from her for just a split second in order to erase and rewrite one of the sentences she had written incorrectly. Miss Sharlin noticed. She immediately snatched the eraser from her, but while she did that in a nanosecond, her long, witch-like nails had made Shiptis hand bleed a little. It didn matter to Shipti until Miss Sharlin threw the eraser on our desk and it bounced, flying into one of my eyes.

Shipti stood up on her feet, fire burning in her eyes for what the evil lady had done to her friend. She left the classroom, threatening Miss Sharlin that she was about to complain to our principal and she really did. My left eye was burning, but I could view the scene almost clearly with the other eye of Miss Sharlin standing still, shocked, with her mouth wide open, clutching her book. A fascination of watching her like that ran through my veins. Shipti, too, did a great job exaggerating the scene with her crocodile tears.

Ultimately, Miss Sharlin got fired and disappeared from our lives without a word. We thought at that time that it was good she had gotten a reality check. Today, when I think of it, it seems really mysterious to me .What had she actually felt at that time? Such a bold lady she was, but she didn try explaining anything to our principal .Why? I would want to go back in time and meet her personally. Today, I think I feel sorry for her. Rethinking this statement, honestly, not really.
