Kaus Mia, proprietor of Hakimpuri Jorda and the highest taxpayers in Bangladesh, passed away early Tuesday at a private hspital in the capital. He was 94.
He breathed his last around 12:40am at Asgar Ali Hospital, said his grandson Anwar Sadat.
Kaus Mia, one of the highest taxpayers in Bangladesh for 26 years, had been sufferings from old-age complications.
He left behind wife, eight sons, eight daughters and host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
The namaz-e-janaza for Kaus Mia will be held after Zuhr prayer at the Armanitola playground in Old Dhaka. He will be buried at Azimpur graveyard.
Kaus Mia was awarded the best taxpayer in the 'Senior Citizen' category for the tax year 2021-22. In the previous few years, however, he was awarded in the best taxpayer in businessman category.
