Farmer electrocuted in Lalmonirhat

A farmer died from electrocution at Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat district on Monday.

The deceased was Mahbub Rahman, 54, a resident of Ketkibari village under Nawdabash union of the upazila.

Hatibandha Police Station officer-in-charge Saiful Islam confirmed the matter, adding that Mahbub was working on the electrical connection at his house. 

At that time, a wire accidentally broke and fell on his body. He was severely injured by the electric shock. 

Later, locals rescued him in critical condition and took him to Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors declared him dead, he said.
Legal actions will be taken in this regard, added the OC.
