18 houses burnt in Ctg fire

At least 18 houses were reportedly burnt in a fire in Chattogram's Anwara upazila on Sunday.

The devastating fire broke out around 10 am at Purba Baraia village under Battali union of the upazila.
Later, on information, one unit of Anwara Fire Service brought the fire under control after trying for two hours.

Mujibur Rahman, the leader in charge of Anwara Fire Service Station, said that the fire originated from an electrical short circuit in a house. Then the fire spread to adjacent houses instantly.

The extent of damage will be investigated, he added.
