Export-import resumes thru Benapole land port

BENAPOLE, June 19: Trade between India and Bangladesh through Benapole land port resumed on Wednesday morning after a five-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha.

Import and export with India through this port remained suspended from June 14 to 18.

Sajedur Rahman, general secretary of the Benapole C&F Staff Association, said export and import activities through the port resumed around 9am.

Azharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Benapole Check Post Immigration Police, said the movement of passengers between the two countries was normal despite the suspension of trade for holidays.    —UNB
