Tk 29 lakh looted from IFIC Bank vault in Bogura

Miscreants reportedly looted some Tk 29 lakh from the vault of  a IFIC Banka sub-branch in Matidali area of Bogura Sadar sometime early Thursday.

Officer-in-Charge of Bogura Sadar Police Station Saihan Waliulla said the bank has no security guard. Employees and staff of the bank left office on Wednesday afternoon after working hours.
They came to the office on Thursday morning and found the vault open. Later, they informed the matter to the police. Primarily they estimated that some Tk 29 lakh were looted from the vault, the official said.

Waliulla said police visited the scene and found that the miscreants broke the gate of the roof of a two-storey building sometime early Thursday and after entered the bank. 

After cutting the bank vault, they took away over Tk 29 lakh, he added.

Meanwhile, UNB said some Tk 29,40,618 were looted from the vault.

However, no formal complaint has been lodged yet regarding the incident, the OC added.
