Four family members, including a baby boy, sustained burn injuries in an explosion at their house under Bhatara Police Station residential area in the capital on Monday night.

Injured Roksi Akter, 20, his sister Futu, 18, Roksi's three-year-old son Ayaan and Roksi's father Abdul Mannan, 60, are now undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
The hospital resident doctor Torikul Islam said, "Four burnt family members came to the hospital on Monday night. Of them, Roksi was admitted to the hospital with 55 per cent of burns, Futu Akter with 55 per cent, Ayaan with 70 per cent and Abdul Mannan with 50 per cent."

All of them are slated to be critical and are undergoing treatment at the ICU.

According to Roksi's brother-in-law Ahmed Mostafa, Roksi has been suffering from brain tumor. She alongwith his family came to Dhaka on June 1 for treatment and rented the house near Evercare Hospital.

At evening on Monday, an explosion suddenly occurred at the kitchen of the house, leaving the four family members injured critically.

The accident might have took place from gas leakage, Mostafa added.
