Ruling Awami League (AL), the countrys oldest political party, will celebrate its 75th founding anniversary on June 23, in the capital.
All the registered political parties of the country will be invited to the celebrations, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Monday.
Briefing reporters after holding a meeting with MPs from Dhaka district, Mayors of Dhaka South and North cities and AL leaders of Dhaka south and north units at AL Presidents political office at Dhanmondi in the city, Quader said that the founding anniversary would celebrated for three days across the country.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said that on June 23, Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the platinum jubilee of ALs founding anniversary in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban.
On the same day, a discussion will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan at 3 pm followed by a cultural event.
A cultural function will be held at Rabindra Sarobar in the capital and boat race and cycle rally will be held at Hatirjheel.
ALs founding anniversary will be celebrated at each union and ward for three days, Quader said.
AL Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organising Secretaries BM Mozammel Haque and Mirza Azam, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, Dhaka North City Mayor Atiqul Islam, AL Executive Committee Member Sayeed Khokan, MP, Ferdous Ahmed, MP, AL Dhaka South unit President Abu Ahmed Mannafi and General Secretary Humayun Kabir, AL Dhaka North unit President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and Jubo League General Secretary Mainul Hossain Chowdhury Nikhil, among others, were present.
