2 die after falling from nine-storey building in city


Two workers died on Wednesday after falling from a nine-storey building under construction in Paschim Rajabazar Amlirtek area of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.  

The deceased were Sagar, 56, and Aminul, 35.
Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Sudhanshu Sarkar confirmed the news on Wednesday night.

He said the two workers were working in a nine-storey building under construction in Pashchim Rajabazar Amlirtek area. At that time, they fell down and died on the spot.

Although the accident took place later in the evening, the police received the news and recovered their bodies at night and sent those to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action is being taken in this regard, the OC added.
