Dear Sir
As forecasted by the Met Office, mild to moderate heatwave has already been causing discomfort since Monday and is expected to persist for at least two more days.
The increase in moisture incursion, as indicated by meteorological experts, exacerbates the situation, making it imperative for us to take immediate action to mitigate its impact. The recent heatwave warning issued by the Met Office for several divisions underscores the urgency of the matter.
It is crucial that we prioritize the well-being of our citizens, especially the vulnerable populations who are most susceptible to the adverse effects of extreme heat. Measures such as providing access to cool shelters, distributing hydration kits, and disseminating public health advisories on heatstroke prevention are essential to safeguarding lives during this challenging period.
Furthermore, concerted efforts should be made to raise awareness about climate change and its role in exacerbating heatwaves, highlighting the need for sustainable practices to mitigate its impact in the long term.
Together, let us work towards building a resilient society that is better equipped to face the challenges posed by extreme weather events.
