Dengue claims three more lives in 24hrs

Three more people died from dengue fever across the country in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

With the new fatalities, the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease from January 1 to till date rose to 32.
According to the latest data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), some 21 patients were hospitalised during the period, raising the number affected people to 2,545 this year.

Of them, 11 patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city, while the rest were outside the capital. All 3 deaths were reported from Dhaka South City area.

So far 2,377 patients were discharged from hospitals since January 1.

The country witnessed the record highest 1,705 dengue deaths in the last year (2023) while 2022 reported 281 fatalities.

Additionally, a total of 3, 21,179 patients were admitted at different hospitals across the country with the viral fever and 3,18,749 were released from there last year.
