BCL leader hacked to death in Cox's Bazar

A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was hacked to death by a group of miscreants at Teknaf Upazila in Cox's Bazar district on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Murad, 26, son of Saifullah Company, a resident of the area. He was the organazing secretary of Baharsara union Chhatra League.

Locals said a group of miscreants, including Rafiq, attacked on Murad and hacked him with sharp weapons around 4pm on Monday in Samlapur bazar, leaving him critically injured.

Locals, later, rescued him and took to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Osman Goni, officer in-charge of Teknaf Model Police Station, confirmed the matter and said, “Efforts are ongoing to arrest the culprits.”
