A Dhaka-bound commuter train hit a oil-laden train in Gazipur's Joydebpur station on Friday morning.

Three persons, including a loco master, were injured in the collision that happened at about 11am at Kazipara area.

Following the accident, the train movement on the Dhaka-Tangail and Dhaka-Mymensingh routes were suspended.

Joydebpur Railway Junction Station master Abu Hanif confirmed this.

Five compartments of the commuter train and several bogies of the oil-laden one were derailed after the collision, he said.

Railway authorities and Fire Service members are working on the spot with the help of locals.

Witnesses said the oil-laden train was on standing condition. Suddenly, a commuter train from opposite side hit the standing one.
