Three die inhaling toxic gas inside septic tank

BRAHMANBARIA, Apr 19: Three workers died after inhaling toxic gas inside a septic tank in Nasirnagar Upazila of the district recently.

The incident took place in Gutma Village under Guniauk Union of the upazila.
Among the deceased, a construction worker was identified as Alam Mia while the details of the rest could not be ascertained yet.

According to locals, Alam Mia along with two others went down to the septic tank of an under-construction building for cleaning. After getting no response from them for a while, locals informed police and Fire Service.

On information, a rescue team from local Fire Service and Civil Defence Station rushed to the scene, and recovered the bodies of the trio after conducting a rescue operation.

Officer-in-Charge of Nasirnagar Police Station Md Sohag Rana confirmed the incident, adding that necessary steps would be taken in this regard.
