Son kills father for refusing to give money for drugs

An ill-fated father was stabbed to death allegedly by his son as he denied to give money for drugs at Fulbaria upazila in Mymensingh district on Thursday night.

The incident took place around 10.30pm at Andariapara village under Fulbaria union of the upazila.
The victim Abdul Qader, 60, was a resident of the same village and father of six children. Among the six, accused Arif Hossain, 20, was the youngest.

Quoting the deceased family members, Fulbaria Police Station's OC Md Rasheduzzaman said accused Arif used to demand money from his father to buy drugs often. On Thursday night, he demanded Tk 10,000 from the victim.

When Abdul Qader denied to give the money, Arif hacked his father with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.

Locals and family members rushed him to Fulbari Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
