Jabbar er Boli Khela begins in Ctg April 25

The 115th edition ‘Jabbar er Boli Khela’, the traditional wrestling competition in Chittagong, will begin at Laldighi Maidan of the city on April 25.

Vice president of the fair committee Chowdhury Farid informed this on Thursday.

He said there will be a three-day Boishakhi fair on April 24, 25 and 26 on the competition venue.

A press conference in this regard will be held at the city corporation's library building near Laldighi at 5pm on Friday.

The Boli Khela was introduced by a local trader named Abdul Jabbar Saodagar to prepare the youths to fight the British through the sport.

The traditional form of wrestling was named after Jabbar. And the first competition was held in 1909. However, the 111th and 112th edition of the fair was cancelled due to the Covid epidemic two years ago.
