BNP's central leader Jewel sent to jail

A court in Dhaka on Wednesday sent Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal general secretary Abdul Quadir Bhuiyan Jewel to jail in two case filed with Paltan Police Station.

Earlier today, Abdul Quadir surrendered in a lower court and later, the court sent him to Keraniganj Central Jail rejecting his bail prayer as he was an warranted accused in the cases.

The court showed him arrested in the two cases.
It was learnt that at least 200 cases have been filed against Jewel and he was jailed for around 15 years' in five case. An arrest warrant has been issued against him in the old cases.

Meanwhile, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a press conference on Wednesday expressed his anxiety over the court's order.

He urged to release Jewel withdrawing his jail sentence and the cases.

Abdul Quadir Bhuiyan Jewel was former president of JCD.
