Two children drown in Sherpur pond

Two children drowned in a pond in Sherpur's Nalitabari upazila on Sunday evening.

The deceased were Asia, 6, daughter of Abdul Hye, and Abu Hanifa, 9, son of Sarwar Hossain, residents of Kawakuri village under the upazila.
It was known that the two children drowned in a pond next to their house while they were playing near its bank.

Later, family members recovered their bodies from the pond in the evening after searching.

Nalitabari Police Station officer-in-charge Monirul Alam Bhuyan confirmed it.
