Law enforcers have arrested four members of Kuki-Chin National Front in separate drives over Bandarban's Thanchi bank robberies.
With the, total five persons, so far, arrested in the combing operation conducted by Bangladesh Army, RAB and police members in the district. They were arrested in eight cases over the robbery incidents in Ruma and Thanchi upazilas.
Bandarban superintendent of police Saikat Shahin said on Sunday one was arrested from Thanchi and three from Ruma upazila.
Police also seized a jeep car used during the robbery.
Earlier on Sunday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested chief coordinator of the Kuki-Chin National Front Cheusim Bawm, 55.
Meanwhile, tight security has been beefed up in the whole district. Different police capabilities have been enhanced, including armored vehicles.
On April 2, the members of the armed group KNF attacked the Ruma Upazila Parishad office, robbed cash money from Sonali Bank's Ruma Branch and abducted its manager Nizam Uddin. The elite force members rescued Nizam Uddin on April 4 and handed him over to his family members.
