Battery factory catches fire in Narayanganj

A massive fire broke out at a battery factory at Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj district on Friday night.

The fire originated at Islampur Chaina Battery Factory in Meghna Industrial Area around 12:00 am.

On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze under around 3:00 am, said Md Fakhruddin Ahmed, deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defence.

However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire and the damage would be known after investigation, he added.
