An imam of a local mosque died and another was injured after their motorcycle collided with a CNG-run autorickshaw at Raozan upazila in
Chattogram on Tuesday.
The deceased Syedul Haque was a resident of the Puichari union of Banskhali upazila and the Pesh Imam of the Aylikhil Baytun Noor Jame Mosque in Roazan.
Meanwhile, the injured is Hafez Maulana Ali Hossain, 42, of the Chambal union of Banshkhali Upazila, has been admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for treatment.
According to an eyewitness, the
accident occurred when the autorickshaw collided with the motorcycle, causing the autorickshaw to overturn and fall into a ditch.
The autorickshaw driver and some passengers were injured in the incident, but their identities were not found immediately, they said.
Zainal Abedin, sub-inspector of Raozan Police Station, confirmed the matter, adding that they went to the spot after receiving the information.
One was found dead, and the other was sent to the hospital. The two vehicles were impounded from the spot, added the SI.
