In a full text, a High Court bench observed that it has divided the two girls with a Japanese mother and a father of Bangladeshi origin considering the exceptional circumstances.
A single High Court bench of Justice Mamnoon Rahman came up with the observation in the full copy of its verdict on the revision petition filed by the father regarding the custody of the two daughters. The full 31-page copy of the judgment released recently, which is available on the Supreme Court website.
Earlier on February 13, the HC ordered that one of two Japan-born daughters would stay with her father, Bangladesh-born United States citizen Imran Sharif, and another with Japanese mother Nakano Eriko.
Of them, the elder daughter would stay with her mother while the younger one with her father. Earlier on January 29 last year, a Dhaka family court in a verdict ordered that the daughters would stay with their mother.
Later, father Sharif submitted a petition with Dhaka District and Sessions Judge Court challenging the family court order.
On July 16 of the same year, when the District and Session Judge Court rejected the fathers appeal seeking his druthers custody he submitted another petition with the HC. After hearing on the petition, the HC divided the two children to the father and mother.
