Child killed in Sherpur road accident

A five-year-old child was killed after being hit by a battery-run easy bike at Nakla upazila in Sherpur on Sunday afternoon. 

The deceased was identified as Tania, daughter of Abdul Kuddus, a resident of Narayonkola area.

Locals said a Narayankhola-bound easy bike hit Tania when she was playing on a road with other children in front of her house, leaving her critically injured. 

Locals, later, rescued her and took to the Nakla Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead. 

Abdul Kader Mia, officer in-charge of Nakla Police Station, said, “We seized the easy bike but its driver managed to flee.
