Students of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College in Azimpur branch staged demonstration on Sunday demanding punishment and resignation of Math teacher Murad Hossain Sarker for sexual harassment.
The guardians also joined the demonstration.
The students alleged that the Math teacher has been sexually harassing them for years. For this, they want permanent resignation of this teacher.
The protesters took to the street of Pilkhana road at noon and staged demonstration there.
Guardians said their children are not safe under Murad Hossain. They want exemplary punishment of the teacher as soon as possible.
Amid protest, Shabnaz Sultana Kamal, acting vice-principal of Azimpur Branch of the school, went there and ensured them of taking action against Murad.
"Murad Hussain Sarkar has been attached to the Principal's office. And legal action will be taken against him," she said.
Shabnaz Sultana said, "The school authorities informed me through a letter that Murad Hossain has been removed from this branch and attached to the principal's office as allegation against him was proved and to keep the school environment calm."
"We talked to the vicitm's family getting the allegation."
