UK-based Study Group to help BD students to study abroad: CEO

UK-based Study Group to help BD students to study abroad: CEO

Ian Crichton, the CEO of Study Group, a UK based organization engaged in offering international education for Bangladeshi students, told this Correspondent in the city recently that the Study Group is aiming to provide comprehensive support to students embarking on their academic journey abroad.

Discussing the availability of International Year One and Year Two programmes, the CEO underscored their significance in offering Bangladeshi students a pathway to prestigious universities in the UK.

While IY1 enables entry into the second year of study, IY2 facilitates direct entry into the third year, particularly advantageous for those aiming for a four-year degree in Scotland, he said.

These programmes boast small class sizes and extensive support services, ensuring that students receive personalized attention and guidance crucial for their academic success. Moreover, the CEO emphasized the affordability of these programmes compared to traditional university routes, highlighting Study Groups commitment to making quality education accessible to all.

Detailing the start dates and entry requirements for international programmes, Ian Crichton outlined Study Groups commitment to flexibility and student-centeredness. He mentioned entry requirements vary by university, so separate provisions can be made for each university. However, the two primary entry dates are September and January.

He explains September is regarded as the main intake date for all UK universities. It is generally considered the best time to commence studies as it coincides with the opening of university campuses for the year.

Commencing studies in September allows participation in Freshers Week activities, where hundreds of clubs can be explored, tours of the university can be joined, and accommodations can be found more easily. The other main entry date is January, although he believes it to be not as optimal.

However, it is found suitable by some students based on personal schedules and other factors. Additionally, there are intake dates in between, but they may not be as favourable. One worth considering, especially for those facing English language challenges, is November. Starting in November allows students to undergo pre-sessional English training before commencing their January courses, helping them acclimate to the UK and improve their language skills before the main course begins.

Drawing from his extensive international career and executive education background, the CEO elucidated Study Groups holistic approach to education. By fostering diversity and collaboration, Study Group prepares students not only for academic success but also for the dynamic global job market. Emphasizing the importance of customer satisfaction and student-centric services, Study Group prioritizes the overall student experience, ensuring that every student feels supported and empowered throughout their educational journey.

Looking ahead, Ian Crichton outlined Study Groups current and future initiatives aimed at enhancing the student experience and expanding opportunities for Bangladeshi students. From modernizing admission systems to establishing closer partnerships with universities worldwide, Study Group is dedicated to providing innovative and accessible educational pathways for students from diverse backgrounds.

Additionally, the organization plans to establish foundation pathways closer to students home countries in attempts to further reduce barriers to entry and facilitate seamless transitions to studying abroad.

Addressing the challenges and opportunities in the Bangladeshi market, Ian acknowledged the complexities and nuances inherent in international education. From combating organized criminal activity to supporting students in navigating visa procedures, Study Group is committed to ensuring a safe, inclusive, and enriching educational experience for all students. Moreover, the CEO underscored the importance of understanding students aspirations and needs, emphasizing Study Groups role in empowering Bangladeshi students to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Reflecting on recent visa changes in the UK, the CEO urged students to approach the application process proactively and advised early preparation to mitigate potential delays and challenges. By providing comprehensive visa assistance and support services, Study Group aims to alleviate the burden on students and facilitate a smooth transition to studying abroad.

The CEO reiterated Study Groups unwavering commitment to empowering Bangladeshi students through international education. By fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity, Study Group strives to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
