JAAGO Foundation Trust, in collaboration with the United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF), recently hosted the Passport 2 Earning Introduction Seminar, an engaging event to foster youth leadership and skill development.
It witnessed the active participation of more than 415 young leaders coming from 64 districts of Bangladesh, as well as diverse professionals, experts and related stakeholders dedicated to skill program development, training and field implementation. The seminar served as a platform to engage in empowering the youth to shape the future of communities, says a press release.
The half-day-long event was inaugurated with the Welcoming P2E (Passport to Earning) session led by the JAAGO Foundation, introducing the young participants to the program and its significance in fostering future skills for youth. P2E is a digital learning platform designed to empower youths with essential skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
Marianne Oehlers, Programme Manager, Generation Unlimited Bangladesh, UNICEF, had given an insightful overview of the Passport to Earning program. She emphasized the importance of skill training in preparing the youth for their future endeavours. These skills enhance employability by making them valuable assets for Bangladesh and foster personal growth by strengthening relationships, building emotional intelligence, and promoting resilience.
Chairman of JAAGO Foundation Trust, Korvi Rakshand, said, "Equipping our youth with tangible skills isn just about securing their futures, its about unlocking the collective potential of Bangladesh. Today is a very special day as we are launching Passport to Earning (P2E) right here at the Youth Empowerment Summit with 400 youth leaders from across the country. P2E is a new digital learning platform for employment, entrepreneurship, and social impact opportunities designed with, for, and by young people and employers in Bangladesh.
The platform offers free and certified quality courses designed with young people in mind and validated by employers with a focus on the practical application of knowledge! Over the next three years, together with Jaago Foundation Trust, Volunteer for Bangladesh, and other public, private, and youth partners, we aim to reach every corner of Bangladesh and engage at least 350,000 young people in this exciting opportunity!"
