State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Simin Hussain (Rimi) today said the government is determined to ensure participation of women in economic development to establish gender equality in the society.

In view of this, she said, projects should be taken for development of human resources.

She was exchanging views with the officials and employees of Department of Women Affairs (DWA) at its office in the capital.

Simin said the Awami League government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly for the development of livelihood of women and children. The government will continue extending all types of cooperation for women empowerment, she said.

The state minister urged the officials to provide the modern sewing machine among poor women instead of traditional sewing machine.

She also asked for preparing database of the beneficiaries.
