GAIBANDHA, Feb 8: A month-long Industrial and trade fair began at Independence Square in the district town here on Tuesday.
Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has arranged the fair to create new entrepreneurs in the society.
Shah Sarwar Kabir, MP, inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.
The chief guest said, the country has advanced more towards industry and commerce sector under the dynamic and prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Considering the welfare of the business community, the government has been working relentlessly since 2009, he added.
Now, businesspersons are enjoying business-friendly environment across the country for taking pragmatic measures by the government, he said.
Earlier, he sought whole-hearted cooperation of the people from all quarters to create Smart Business environment in a bid to help Smart Bangladesh by 2041 envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Later on, he went round the stalls of the fair and talked with the stall owners.
The fair will continue till March 6.
In addition to commodity exhibition, various events including cultural function have been arranged to entertain the visitors during the fair.
