BCL men hold black flag procession in JU demanding resignation of GS Liton

A group of leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Jahangirnagar University unit on Friday staged demonstration carrying black flags against the organisations General Secretary Habibur Rahman Liton.

Some 300 agitators brought out a procession at around 4:15pm from the universitys transport yard and paraded different streets that ended at central Shaheed Minar premises after a brief rally.

The agitators chanted different slogans from the procession like Ek Dofa Ek Dabi, Liton Tui Kobe Jabi, Vumi Dossu Secretary, Mani Na Manbo Na, and various other anti-Liton slogans.

The procession was led by JU BCL Joint-Secretaries Lelin Mahbub and Arafat Islam Bijay, Organizing Secretary Chinmoy Sarkar, Vice-Presidents Sajjad Shoaib Chowdhury, Faisal Khan Rocky and Finance Secretary Tauhidul Alam Taqid.

Zahiduzzaman Sakil, a Vice President of university unit Chhatra League, addressed the rally by reading out a written statement on behalf of the agitated leaders and activists.

In the written statement, Sakil said, "Liton has already been accused of land grabbing, corruption, recruitment trade, controlling drug syndicate and various other irregularities."

Blaming Liton for de-stabilizing the university atmosphere by constituting hall committees, he said, "Liton constituted two hall committees by including non-students, married, expelled students. He didn discuss with the top-brass leader of the university unit and also deprived sacrificing candidates. It made the university campus unstable."
