CCC to start pilot project to remove cable clutter

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) is going to start a pilot project in three wards in the city from February to bring back the beauty of the city which has faded due to cable clutter.

CCC Mayor Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury took this decision in a meeting with various business organizations, and organizations providing dish and internet connection at CCC office near Tigerpass on Monday.

The Mayor said, ''Order to develop Chattogram city aesthetically, the underground network will be created and the drainage system will be used to run dish and Internet cables. The pilot project will be launched in Lalkhan Bazar, Bagmaniram and Jamalkhan wards from February 16.''

The meeting was attended by Chairman of Urban Planning and Development Standing Committee and Jamalkhan Ward Councilor Shaibal Das Suman, Chairman of Management and Maintenance Standing Committee and Lalkhan Ward Councilor Abul Hasnat Md. Belal, Environment Development Standing Committee Member and Reserved Ward Councilor Rumki Sengupta, Environment Development Standing Committee. Member Secretary and Corporation Secretary Khaled Mahmud, Mayor's Private Secretary Abul Hashem, Assistant City Planner Abdullah Al Omar, President of Internet Service Provider of Bangladesh Emdadul Haque and General Secretary Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan along with the representatives of Cable Operators of Bangladesh.
