36 ministers, state ministers named, oath-taking today

Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, who was appointed Prime Minister for the fourth consecutive term on Wednesday, has named her new Cabinet members dropping some of her existing members.

A total of 36 members of the new Cabinet will take oath on Thursday at Bangabbhan, Cabinet Secretary M Mahbub Hossain said while briefing media at his office at Wednesday night.

In the new Cabinet, some 25 new ministers and 11 state ministers will take oath. In the new Cabinet, two ministers were included as technocrat minister.

The 25 new ministers of the new Cabinet are AKM Mozammel Haque of Gazipur-1, Obaidul Quader of Naokhali-5, Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun of Narsingdi-4, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal of Dhaka-12, Dr Dipu Moni of Chandpur-3, Md Tajul Islam of Cumilla-9, Muhammad Faruk Khan of Gopalganj-1, Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali of Dinajpur-4, Mohammad Hasan Mahmud of Chattogram-7, Anisul Huq of Brahmanbaria-4, Abdus Shahid of Moulavibazar-4, Sadhan Chandra Majumder of Naogaon-1, RAM Ubaidul Muktadir Chowdhury of Brahmanbaria-3, Abdur Rahman of Faridpur-1, Narayan Chandra Chanda of Khulna-5, Abdus Salam of Mymensingh-9, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel of Chattogram-9, Farhad Hossain of Meherpur-1, Faridul Haque Khan of Jamalpur-2, Jillul Hakim of Rajbari-2, Saber Hossain Chowdhury of Dhaka-9, Jahangir Kabir Nanak of Dhaka-13, Nazmul Hasan Papon of Kishoreganj-6, Architect Yeafes Osman and Dr. Samanta Lal Sen.

Of the 25 ministers, 23 are the members of parliament (MP) and Architect Yeafes Osman and Dr Samanta Lal Sen are technocrats.
The newly named state ministers, are Simeen Hussain Rimi of Gazipur 4, Nasrul Hamid of Dhaka 3, Zunaid Ahmed Palak of Natore 3, Mohammad A Arafat of Dhaka 17, Muhibur Rahman Muhib of Patuakhali 4, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury of Dinajpur 2, Zahid Farooq of Barisal 5, Kujendra Lal Tripura of Khagrachhari, Rumana Ali of Gazipur 3, Shafiqur Rahaman Chowdhury of Sylhet 2 and Ahasanul Islam Titu of Tangail 6.

In the briefing, the Cabinet Secretary urged all not to spread rumours about the new Cabinet.
