Cyber attacks carried out on EC app from 3 countries

Cyber attacks have been carried out on the app "Smart Election Management BD" of the Election Commission (EC) from three countries. However, hackers were not able to hack the app.

The attacks were carried out from Ukraine, Germany along with another country, EC Secretary Md Jahangir Alam told journalists on Sunday.

He said, "The app has been slowed down by the attack. Our team has been working round the clock to fix the issue. Although the app is functioning slowly, it's still working."

"The EC had created a mobile application which was providing real-time voting information. However, voters have been complaining since Sunday morning that the EC app was not operating properly," Jahangir Alam added.
