NATORE, Jan 5: An election camp of an independent candidate Asif Abdullah bin Quddus Shobhan of Truck symbol in Natore-4 Constituency was reportedly set ablaze by miscreants on Friday.
The arson took place in Haroa area of Ward No. 7 under Bonpara Municipality early in the morning.
Bonpara Police Investigation Centre In-Charge Sirajul Islam confirmed the matter.
He said that after an election meeting, on Thursday night, the supporters of the independent candidate returned home. Later on, in the morning, miscreants set fire to the election camp. The fire burnt the table-chairs along with the camp awning.
Then, supporters of the independent candidate reported the incident to the police. On information, the police visited the scene and collected evidence.
The police officer also said that legal action is being taken in this regard.
