Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday alleged that the BNP is now planning to kill important leaders and candidates if required to spread panic among general people after failing to press home their one-point movement to oust the government. At a press briefing at the AL Presidents Dhanmondi political party office, the AL General Secretary urged everyone, including party candidates, leaders, and activists, to be careful in the coming days.
"BNP can create panic by murdering people if necessary to prevent them from coming to the polling station on January 7. Everyone, including the law and order forces, must be careful," he said.
A message has been sent from London that if it is necessary, they will go ahead with the clandestine killing, claimed the ruling party leader.
BNP is proceeding with a terrible plan, said Quader.
"Preparation is taking place for a terrible attack, going towards secret murder; I have received such news. I am warning the activists. The upcoming election is a challenge for us. We have to overcome this challenge. Leaders and activists at all levels of the country should be on alert," he added.
The Awami League General Secretary gave strict instructions to all party candidates to follow the electoral code of conduct, saying that the new journey of democracy in Bangladesh will begin in the new year.
He said, "To save democracy, Liberation War and Independence of Bangladesh, there is no alternative to the victory of the Boat in this election."
Obaidul Quader said, "BNP itself is responsible for its own misdeeds and negative politics for its destruction and obliteration."
