MYMENSINGH, Dec 30: Four members of a family, including two minor girls, died from electrocution in Nandail of Mymensingh district on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased are Anwara Begum, 65, wife of Late Abdus Sattar, her son Jamal Uddin, 35, and Jamals two daughters Fahmida Islam, 6, and Faria Islam Anika, 4.
The incident occurred at 3:00pm at Ghoshpala Purbapar area of Ghoshgaon Union of the upazila.
Local UP member Md Mahbub Alam said Jamal was charging his auto-rickshaw. But accidentally, Jamal came in contact with loose electric wires while trying to get the rickshaw out of the house.
His two daughters died after touching their father. Later, Anwara died after attempting to check on her son and granddaughters.
Officer-in-Charge of Nandail Police Station Abdul Majid confirmed the matter. They visited the spot, he added.
