Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has regretted by saying that many people are now working to bring the third party to power in Bangladesh.
She was speaking at a colourful election rally at Government Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman College ground in Tungipara on Saturday morning.
Sheikh Hasina alleged that various types of conspiracies were going on to foil the election. "Many are also involved internationally. They are trying to bring the third party to power in Bangladesh. We will give a befitting reply through the January 7 election."
"But, what can the third party do? They can't do any development of the country. You had seen what they did in 2007," she said.
Referring to the January 7 election, the Awami League president said, "Our election will be held on January 7. We will cast our votes for 'Boat' symbol. You all go to the respective polling centres in person and show the entire world that the election is held in a free, fair and impartial manner. We can do this. We can change the firtune of the people of Bangladesh."
Terming the support of the inhabitants of Tungipara as her strength, the Awami League president conveyed her thanks and gratitude to them.
Sheikh Hasina said, "I have to look after 300 constituencies and you look after me. So, it is my biggest achievement. There is no a fortunate candidate like me in the country. It is the reality. It is because of you. You shoulder the responsibility of mine."
