The judgement in a graft case filed 16 years ago  against BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas was deferred for the second time.

Judge Manjurul Imam of Dhaka Special Judges Court 6 on Tuesday fixed December 28 as it was not ready for delivery.

The court on November 22 set November 30 to deliver the verdict after hearing arguments from both the sides. It later fixed December 12 as the new date for the pronouncement of the verdict after failing to do so on the first date.

According to the case documents, Mirza Abbas concealed information about Tk 7.54 crore and illegally accumulated wealth amounting to over Tk 57.26 lakh. ACC Deputy Director Md Shafiul Alam filed the case with Ramna Police Station on August 16 in 2007.

On May 24 in 2008, ACC Deputy Director Md Khairul Huda submitted charge sheet against the BNP leader following an investigation.

The trial began with the framing of charges on June 16 in 2008. During the trial, 24 people testified against Mirza Abbas.
