Chhatra Dal leader held in Hatibandha

Police arrested a leader of Chhatra Dal, a student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), from Hatibandha upazila in Lalmonirhat district on Sunday afternoon.

The arrestee was identified as Rubel Islam, 30, convener of Hatibandha upazila unit Chhatra Dal. He is son of Ahmed Ali of Paschim Bejgram village of Tongbhanga union of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Hatibandha police Station Shaha Alam acknowledging the matter said Rubel was arrested from Doikawa intersection of the upazila in the afternoon.

There are several cases in his name in the police station. But in which case Rubel has been arrested will be informed later.
