Child among two killed as private car hits auto-rickshaw

Two people, including a child, have been killed and two others injured after a private car hit a battery-run auto-rickshaw at Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj district.

The accident took place on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway in Naimui Bazar area on Monday evening.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Hatikumrul Highway Police Station sergeant Dulal Uddin said a Natore-bound private car hit the auto-rickshaw from the opposite direction, leaving four people critically injured.

Two of them died on the way to a hospital.

Legal steps in this regard are under process, the sergeant said.
