Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday detained two people along with a huge number of crude bombs and bomb making materials from an abandoned house in Demra area of the capital.
The elite force detained them in the evening during a drive at Basherpool area, said RAB-3 commanding officer Lt Col Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed.
He said RAB's bomb disposal unit and dog squad were heading towards the spot. The elite force will hold a on-spot briefing later on the matter.
